Setenil gastronomy

What to eat?

Setenil de las Bodegas has a rich gastronomy, with similarities with other kitchens of Serranía de Ronda and Sierra de Cádiz.

Overall, it is remarkable the pork cold meats, made traditionally in familiar slaughters. Nowadays, due to the laws, it’s a practice in phase of decadence, which is substituted by pork cold meats made in Los Montes de Setenil S.C.A. (The meats of Setenil in the TV program “Cómetelo” of Canal Sur https://youtu.be/aVnUrsAGh8U )

It is also remarkable the confectionery industry of the village with typical sweets like cortadillos, empanadillas (small pasties), pasta… in addition to the seasonal sweets typical of other regions like pestiños (honey-coated fritters).

It is also noteworthy the typical dishes like homemade soups, scrambled asparagus, migas, stews, gazpachuelos, small cakes, stew beans, sweet potatoes with honey…

All this gastronomic offer has as common ingredient the most representative product of Setenil gastronomy and economy: the extra virgin olive oil.

It is also included in this section the emerging wine industry of the locality with several vineyards in production which in the last years have produced and put on the market the first red wines of Setenil in many years.

The gastronomic offer of Setenil de las Bodegas hopes you can enjoy the traditional dishes and others which are more commercial ones, in the wide offer of bars and restaurants.

You can look up the whole gastronomic offer in the section of Bars and Restaurants in the Directory of companies in this website (City Council section).
